Learn more about how the new planning system is performing since going live on 31 July across rural and outback South Australia.

Since 31 July 2020, the Planning and Design Code for Phases One (Outback Areas) and Two (Rural Areas) has been in operation and accessible via a modern ePlanning platform.

The ePlanning platform includes the online Planning and Design Code and the Development Application Processing system. This means that development applications for the state’s outback and rural areas have been submitted and tracked through our new planning system.

Some of the early signs on the performance of the new planning system shows the system is delivering many benefits. Some of the key measures include the number of users and development applications submitted into the new system to date, with an impressive average processing time for applications being met.
