Yorktown Road and Adams Road roundabout

We are upgrading the junction of Yorktown Road and Adams Road in Elizabeth Downs. This forms part of the State Government's election commitments, to upgrade, or investigate potential upgrades, in the northern suburbs to improve safety, access and make travel easier for all users.

Following an initial consultation, we have developed a proposed concept design for the Yorktown Road and Adams Road roundabout.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback last year. Local insights outlined there are opportunities to improve congestion and travel times, as well as motorist safety. This feedback, along with input from key stakeholders and technical data, has been used to help inform the development of the concept design.

Latest News

Early works, including service relocation, will be undertaken at the junction in anticipation of major works commencing in mid-2024. See the latest works update for more information. We look forward to sharing more details including the final design, and our detailed landscaping plan in the coming months.

Proposed treatments
  • installation of a roundabout at the junction of Yorktown Road and Adams Road;
  • installation of pedestrian refuges at the roundabout for each of the three legs of the roundabout;
  • installation and upgrade of adjacent pavements and footpaths around the roundabout; and
  • installation of upgraded lighting.

To achieve these critical upgrades, tree and vegetation removal will be required. Removal of impacted vegetation will be carefully supervised by an arborist, and all care and consideration will be taken in the removal and handling of vegetation.

Community engagement

Community consultation on the proposed concept design for Yorktown Road and Adams Road Roundabout was undertaken in mid-2023. We then released a summary report of the feedback we received throughout the consultation process. This report can be viewed here.
