Princes Highway Upgrades
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) is delivering infrastructure upgrades on the Princes Highway Corridor, from Meningie to the South Australian/Victorian border. The project forms part of the $190 million Princes Highway Corridor Upgrade program which is jointly funded by the Australian and South Australian governments (80:20).
These works will support South Australia's regional economic growth, improve access for high productivity freight movements, provide upgrades to regional road networks for improved accessibility and community connectivity, enhance opportunities for regional tourism in South Australia and improve long term safety and efficiency for all road users.
We are undertaking new pavement works on the Princes Highway, between Wehl Street North and Suttontown Road, to improve road surface quality. Works involve removing the existing pavement and replacing it with new asphalt.
During this work Jubilee Highway West (northern carriageway) will be closed to traffic. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on the southern carriageway at reduced speed. This traffic management will be required to remain in place outside of working hours. For more information please view the latest works notice.
