Prospect School Precinct Traffic Study
We are undertaking the Prospect Primary School Precinct Traffic Study in partnership with the City of Prospect.
The study is investigating pedestrian accessibility, safety, parking and traffic management around the road network near Prospect Primary School and Rosary School in Prospect. It will assist us to better understand the current situation and concerns, as well as identify improvement opportunities.
The study area includes the road sections bounding the schools and within the school zones, Gladstone Road, Burrage Place, Staples Court, Olive Street, Braund Road and the interface with Prospect Road.
Timing
The study has a staged approach to allow for completion of construction activities at Rosary School. In late November 2024, the on-site kiss and drop opened at the school.
In early December 2024, traffic, pedestrian and parking observations were undertaken to inform the study. Timing of this was to ensure the findings appropriately consider typical movement patterns within the school precinct after construction was completed.
The preliminary report is expected to be completed in early 2025.
Have your say
Seeking insights from the school community, as well as local businesses, residents and other key stakeholders is an important part of the study.
Feedback from the community since late 2023 has been taken into consideration and helped to inform the study.
