Naracoorte Road Upgrades

We are undertaking safety upgrades on Naracoorte Road, from Meatworks Road to Stott Road. The $5.4 million project is jointly funded by the Australian (80%) and South Australian (20%) governments as part of the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program (HVSPP ).

What’s happening

Naracoorte Road serves as an important connecting route between Bordertown and Naracoorte and supports a wide variety of freight movements in the region. These upgrades will improve safety and efficiency for all road users, and accessibility for freight.

The upgrades include shoulder construction and sealing, curve widening, Audio Tactile Line Marking (ATLM), improved signage, safety barrier and vegetation management.

Project timing

Works will be undertaken from Monday 29 January until August 2024 (weather permitting), Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm and Saturdays 7am - 3pm.

How this affects you:

To undertake these works safely, we’ll have speed and lane restrictions in place in work areas. Please plan your trips, be cautious around workers, and follow the speed limits and signs. Outside of work hours seed restrictions will remain in place subject to onsite conditions. We will ensure every effort is made to minimise speed restrictions outside of working hours as much as possible.

During the works, there might be some noisy disruptions from time to time, but we'll do our best to keep the noise to a minimum. You will still be able to access businesses and homes. If we need to limit access, we'll let property owners know ahead of time.
