Shepherds Hill Road, Brighton Parade and Waite Street Intersection
About the project
We are installing new traffic lights at Shepherds Hill Road, Brighton Parade and Waite Street to make it safer and easier to access this busy intersection.
We previously sought feedback from the community on two options to improve safety and access at this intersection. Since then, the project team has considered the feedback received, completed technical investigations and progressed the design.
The plan for the upgrade has now been finalised and construction is planned to start in 2025.
Intersection design
A signalised intersection will best address what is most important to the community and provide the greatest improvements to access and safety at the intersection.
The upgrade will include:
- Installation of signalised dedicated through lanes across Shepherds Hill Road
- Installation of signalised dedicated right-hand turn lanes from Shepherds Hill Road onto Brighton Parade and Waite Street
- Installation of new dedicated bicycle lanes on both sides of Shepherds Hill Road
- Installation of new signalised pedestrian crossings through the intersection.
