Junction of Jones Road and Junction Road, Balhannah
About the project
We are delivering the Adelaide Hills Productivity and Road Safety (PRS) Package to upgrade key strategic arterial roads in the region. The road improvements will support economic growth, improve road safety and increase fire resilience. The $150 million initiative is jointly funded by the Australian Government (80%) and South Australian Government (20%) over five years.
The intersection of Junction Road and Jones Road in Balhannah was identified to receive targeted safety upgrades as part of the Adelaide Hills Productivity and Road Safety Program.
This upgrade will improve road safety by enhancing and simplifying traffic movement through the installation of updated signage and new line marking, as well as improving manoeuvrability by widening the existing shoulder.
The project aims to
- Improve safety for all road users at the intersection
- Reduce the risk of accidents at the junction facilitated by updated signage
- Enhance clarity on traffic direction enabled by clear line marking
- Improve manoeuvrability at the junction and around the intersection aided by shoulder widening.
