About the project

The Southern Ports Highway stretches over 119kms between Kingston SE and Millicent. It's a key transport corridor for freight, agriculture, and tourism movements across the south east.

Two 15km sections of the Southern Ports Highway, from Southend Access Road to Beachport and from Robe to Clay Wells Road, Bray, are being upgraded with works currently underway on both sections.

The 15 km section of the Southern Ports Highway, between the Southend Access Rd turn-off and Beachport outlet, is being reconstructed by Wattle Range Council on behalf of the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.

What's happening

The 2 sections of the Southern Ports Highway will have:

  • lane widening

  • shoulder sealing

  • pavement rehabilitation

  • culvert extensions and safety barriers

  • audio tactile line marking.
