Learn to Swim – Expression of interest

We recognise how important swimming lessons are for children and young adults to know how to stay safe in and around water.

To ensure the next generation of swimmers can keep building their skills, we can confirm that everyone currently enrolled in the Learn to Swim program at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre can be accommodated at an alternative swim centre across Adelaide.

Around 3,000 Learn to Swim spaces will be available from July 2024.

To help transition Learn to Swim families to other swim centres, we are undertaking an EOI process where you can nominate your preferred alternative swimming venues.

Make sure that you subscribe to our mailing list so that you receive updated information as it becomes available.

Venues

Through our extensive analysis, we can confirm that pool space across the Adelaide network is available for Learn to Swim. New spaces will be created from the start of term 3 (July 2024) with a range of times available.

Pools across the metropolitan area are not currently being used to their capacity. We have the opportunity to use these spaces during the closure period.

Please note, the details under each alternative venue option were correct at the time of publishing.

Submit an expression of interest

Learn to Swim expressions of interest were open 31 January through to 29 February 2024.

If you are still to complete your EOI for Learn to Swim classes, we appreciate you doing this as soon as possible so we can assist you with this transition process. We will do our best to allocate you to one of your preferred venues at a time similar to your current class enrolment.

Placements

Submissions received on time

We have now emailed everyone who submitted their Learn to Swim expression of interest (EOI) by the deadline (29 February 2024) with their confirmed alternative venue placement.

If you did not receive this email, please get in contact with us at AACUserInfo@sa.gov.au.

Placement information has been passed onto the confirmed swimming centre, who will contact you to finalise your placement and provide you with the necessary details required for a smooth transition.

Late submissions

We will now start reviewing all EOI submissions received after 29 February 2024. We will contact you during May 2024 with your placement information.

If you are still to complete your EOI for Learn to Swim classes, we appreciate you doing this as soon as possible so we can assist you with this transition process.

Finalise enrolment

Once placed, the confirmed swimming centre will contact you to finalise your placement and provide you with the necessary details required for a smooth transition.
