Penneshaw Harbour Precinct

The Penneshaw harbour precinct is an important place for locals and visitors. It plays a significant role in South Australia's tourism and agriculture industries and a key role in moving goods and people on and off the Island.

Key improvements

Taking your feedback into consideration, we have made several key improvements to the Penneshaw Harbour Precinct Master Plan. These include:

  • an upgraded heavy vehicle marshalling area
  • intersection safety and car park upgrades
  • a redesign of the coach parking area
  • improved pedestrian access and a new footpath to the jetty
  • safety improvements to reduce potential conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians
  • enhancements to public spaces.

Also included is a Penneshaw ‘infinity walking loop’, providing a walking route around the Penneshaw town centre. This would connect to local points of interest and minimise interaction with ferry traffic.

Funding

There is currently no funding committed to deliver this Master Plan, however both Option 1 and 2 can be pursued for funding should it become available.
