The State Government and Mount Barker District Council have committed $5 million towards the construction of a new rail level crossing on Heysen Boulevard.
These works will provide connectivity to a crucial thoroughfare and offer an improved travel solution for Mount Barker residents.
Site establishment activities will be undertaken from mid-January until late March 2024 while the Steam Ranger is not in operation in the Mount Barker area. These activities will involve preparing the ground works, including modification to the rail tracks and installation of utility services.
The detailed design for the project is currently underway. Once finalised, more information will be provided to the community, including the timing of when major works will start and when the project will be finished.
