Glen Osmond Road, Kenilworth Road and Young Street Intersection Pedestrian Improvements

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) will be undertaking works to improve safety at the Pedestrian Crossing on Glen Osmond Road, adjacent Parkside Primary School.

The project is one of eight locations across South Australia identified for upgrade as part of the broader strategy to improve road safety for all pedestrians but in particular children walking to and from school.

The upgraded crossing will improve access to Schools and contribute to improved safety when crossing Glen Osmond Road. Works will include:

  • realigning of the pedestrian crossing on Glen Osmond Road at Kenilworth Road;
  • widening of the pedestrian island adjacent Parkside Primary School;
  • Installation of a wombat crossing along Kenilworth Road and Youg street slip lane;
  • installation of new “Keep Clear” marking across Glen Osmond Road at Kenilworth Road; and
  • upgraded road lighting;

Following extensive planning, the Department has released a proposed concept design

Feedback on the proposed treatments closed on Sunday, 24 September 2023 and has been reviewed by the Department. Please see the project update.
