About the project

Kangarilla Road has been identified as a key arterial road in the Adelaide Hills that will benefit from safety upgrades.

Safety upgrades will align with the feedback and insights captured in our Adelaide Hills community engagement activities in late 2022.

What's happening

We will deliver a range of key treatments to improve safety. These include:

  • New road surface
  • New safety barriers
  • Road widening
  • New signage
  • Audio tactile centre line marking (ATLM)
  • Culvert extension for better drainage

ATLM is used to reduce “run-off-road’ or cross carriageway crashes by creating a noise (audio) and vibratory (tactile) warning to road users who have strayed from the road lane.

Project background

This project is part of the Adelaide Hills Productivity and Road Safety (AHPRS) Package.
