Greenhill Road maintenance works
About the project
An extreme weather event in June 2023 resulted in a landslip along a section of Greenhill Road, near Yanagin Road. This affected the structural integrity of the safety barrier. While the issue may not be visible from the roadway, we closed a lane and installed temporary traffic lights as a safety measure.
Following a review of traffic restrictions in place, we substantially reduced the length of the temporary speed zone.
What we did
Works involved:
- installing a retaining wall to reinstate and stabilise the roadside slope
- replacing the safety barrier at various locations within the work area.
To do this work safely, we had speed and lane restrictions in the work area.
During catastrophic fire danger days or at other times as requested by the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) traffic management contractors were on standby to respond to advice by the CFS.
