We are upgrading the intersection of Grange Road, Holbrooks Road and East Avenue.

Less time waiting at traffic lights.
Four new, safer pedestrian crossings.
Improving safety for cyclist and public transport users.
Removing staggered junction for faster travel.

About the project

Construction of a new, four way intersection, will relieve congestion and improve safety and connectivity for all road users at this location.

Along Grange Road, Holbrooks Road and East Avenue.

Funding

$90 million, funded by the Australian and South Australian governments as part of the T2D Project.

What's happening

Works will include:

  • realignment and widening of East Avenue with two through lanes onto Holbrooks Road, two dedicated right turn lanes onto Grange Road and a left turn slip lane onto Grange Road
  • widening of Grange Road with dedicated left turn lane onto East Avenue, two through lanes onto Grange Road and two dedicated right turn lanes onto Holbrooks Road
  • widening of Grange Road with one dedicated left turn lane onto Holbrooks Road, two through lanes on Grange Road and one dedicated right hand turn lane onto East Avenue
  • widening of Holbrooks Road with two through lanes onto East Avenue, two dedicated right turn lanes onto Grange Road and left turn slip lane onto Grange Road.

Other proposed upgrades include:

  • new and upgraded traffic signals, LED road lighting, line marking and drainage
  • new asphalt, kerbing and gutters
  • upgraded pedestrian crossings within the intersection
  • installation of new dedicated bicycle lanes on all approaches
  • new landscaping.
