About the project

We are undertaking pavement rehabilitation and resurfacing works on a number of roads within the township of Wallaroo to improve safety and access.

Locations include Irwine Street, Owen Terrace, Victoria Street, and Copper Coast Highway as well as Sharples Road and Bowman Road in Wallaroo.

What's happening

As part of these works, we are constructing a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Irwine Street and Owen Terrace.

This upgrade will improve safety and traffic efficiency for all users throughout the intersection.

The Irwine Street and Owen Terrace roundabout will include:

  • a new single-lane roundabout featuring a mountable kerb to facilitate heavy vehicle movements
  • new and upgraded crossing facilities for safer pedestrian and cyclist movements, including new raised pedestrian crossing points, and pedestrian crossing refuges
  • new concrete kerbing
  • new asphalt pavement
  • new line marking
