Doors open

The new Service SA Centre on Currie Street is now up and running after opening its doors to the public for the first time on Monday morning.

The team have done a great job of transitioning from North Terrace to the purpose-designed facility, which meets new needs and expectations in a rapidly changing marketplace.

The new Currie Street Service SA Centre is now in full operation.

Great progress

Some very visible progress is taking place on the Flinders Link Project, with four more girders recently installed on this important piece of infrastructure.

When complete, the project will extend the existing Tonsley rail line to the Flinders Medical Centre, creating new connections to the health, innovation and education precincts. It will include an elevated single track over Sturt Road, Laffers Triangle and Main South Road, linking Flinders Medical Centre and Flinders University to the passenger rail network.

A total of 14 of the 20 girders have now been installed across the project.

Interns farewell

The team at the Office of Design and Architecture SA recently took some time out to farewell two interns who impressed with their efforts.

The architecture students from University of SA spent time with the team focussing on Design Guidelines for Outdoor Learning Spaces before presenting their plan to the governance committee at Whyalla High School as part of the exercise.

It’s good to see teams embracing the time with interns and hopefully tapping in to some of the enthusiasm they bring to the workplace.

Rail Museum works

Well done to the Rail Infrastructure Maintenance team on reinstalling sections of track for the National Rail Museum to allow more flexibility in moving trains around and the capacity to take visitors on short trips.

The work involved a short section of multi-gauge timber track plus another small section of track with steel sleepers with the main task to bring the old Jackett's siding back to its previous alignment using original materials.
