Santos Tour Down Under
Our teams have been doing some great work to engage the public with the important Think! Road Safety and Be Safe Be Seen messages during the Santos Tour Down Under this week.
Our stand in the TDU Village in Victoria Square has had members of the public learning about safe cycling as well as taking the Be Safe Be Seen challenge to test their knowledge of road safety.
Staff have also been in the Be Safe Be Seen car travelling ahead of the race to spread the message further afield.
Staff members talk to interested members of the public at the TDU stand.
Thank you
In the aftermath of the recent bushfires, it’s important to reflect on the DPTI staff who have been involved in giving their time and effort to help fight the fires or support those who were.
We have a number of volunteers among us who serve with the CFS, SES and other organisations, who have been involved in helping to protect our community including staff who fought fires interstate, in the Adelaide Hills and at Kangaroo Island.
To each of you our message is simple; well done and thank you.

Commitment signed
I am delighted that our executive team recently signed the DPTI Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion, in line with the South Australian Public Sector Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Plan.
Our priorities include being more reflective of the communities that we serve, to build diversity and inclusion capability and knowledge, and to be accountable for diversity and inclusion.
The Commitment is supported through works being undertaken by six Community of Practice groups that work across the organisation to plan and drive programs to cultivate a culture of acceptance.

Recycled road
A great innovation to use 100% recycled materials to seal the construction site office car park of the $354 million Regency to Pym Street project has received wide interest from the public and industry recently.
The sealing kept a range of waste out of landfill, including 110,000 plastic bags, 324kg of recycled canola oil, 2500 printer cartridges and 207 tonnes of recycled asphalt.
The project will also support the trial of the addition of plastic to the asphalt mix on a section of road pavement and explore opportunities to use recyclable materials on other aspects of the works.

Fascinating view
A new video showing the work behind installing steel bridge girders on the Flinders Link project has just been released and makes a fascinating record of the intricate tasks we’re involved in.
The video is already attracting a lot of views and I encourage you to take a moment to have a look to appreciate again how capable our teams and contractors really are.
