A chance for many to pause and refresh

As we head into the Easter weekend, many of us will have the chance to take a break and reset, while others will continue working to provide essential services to the public.

Thank you to those who do their part to keep services running at these times.

Thank you also to everyone in DPTI for making our recent workplace changes a productive and constructive work in progress.

This Easter will be different for all of us, so let’s stay connected, even from a distance, stay safe, stay at home and take some time to pause and refresh.

Taking protective measures at Service SA

The safety of customers and staff remains our highest priority.

To protect the community and our staff, Service SA is continuing to put measures in place to reduce the need for customers to visit service centres and to ease the pressure on the state’s medical system.

While some assessment services such as learner theory tests, hazard perception tests and Rider Safe courses are temporarily not available, the team has put alternate arrangements in place to help those halfway through their driver’s licence training.

Other services have been moved online or are now available via phone or email, so if you or a friend or family member need to visit Service SA, check if there is an online option first.

Progress on Gawler line electrification

Work is continuing on the electrification of the Gawler rail line, with a two-week closure of the line between the Adelaide and Salisbury stations from last service tomorrow, to allow construction of key infrastructure.

This project will deliver a number of important benefits, including an improved customer experience, better reliability and safety, and delivery of environmental benefits.

The Adelaide to Salisbury closure begins after the last service tomorrow night and will run until the last service on 24 April. Substitute buses will be in place to transfer passengers.

Friday Flashback

Today’s Friday Flashback is from a spot in the Adelaide CBD, way back in 1917. We think it might be familiar enough that you can guess the location. We’ll let you know the answer next week.
