KEY FACTS:

328 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2012, compared with 399 during 2011.

77 people have been seriously injured in MAY 2012.

50 serious injuries were males and 27 were females.

53 were vehicle occupants, 13 were motorcycle riders, 7 were pedestrians and 4 were cyclists.

In MAY 2012, there were 31 serious injuries in the country and 46 in Adelaide.

Of the 66 serious injury crashes in MAY 2012, 27 involved a single vehicle and 39 involved more than one vehicle.
58 crashes involved a single serious injury and 8 involved multiple serious injuries.
