KEY FACTS:

487 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2013, compared with 501 during 2012.

48 people have been seriously injured in AUGUST 2013.

33 serious injuries were males and 15 were females.

39 were vehicle occupants, 6 were motorcycle riders and 3 were pedestrians.

In AUGUST 2013, there were 32 serious injuries in the country and 16 in Adelaide.

Of the 37 serious injury crashes in AUGUST 2013, 21 involved a single vehicle and 16 involved more than one vehicle.
32 crashes involved a single serious injury and 5 involved multiple serious injuries.
