ROAD CRASH SERIOUS INJURIES IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

KEY FACTS:

541 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2012, compared with 701 during 2011.

52 people have been seriously injured in SEPTEMBER 2012.

36 serious injuries were males and 16 were females.

42 were vehicle occupants, 5 were motorcycle riders, 3 were pedestrians and 2 were cyclists.

In SEPTEMBER 2012, there were 34 serious injuries in the country and 18 in Adelaide.

Of the 42 serious injury crashes in SEPTEMBER 2012, 20 involved a single vehicle and 22 involved more than one vehicle.
38 crashes involved a single serious injury and 4 involved multiple serious injuries.
