KEY FACTS:
  • 257 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2012, compared with 322 during 2011.


  • 72 people have been seriously injured in APRIL 2012.


  • 52 serious injuries were males and 20 were females.


  • 39 were vehicle occupants, 14 were cyclists, 12 were motorcycle riders and 7 were pedestrians.


  • In APRIL 2012, there were 31 serious injuries in the country and 41 in Adelaide.


  • Of the 63 serious injury crashes in APRIL 2012, 33 involved a single vehicle and 30 involved more than one vehicle.

  • 58 crashes involved a single serious injury and 5 involved multiple serious injuries.
